Obituary for Anthony S Ulcej

Anthony S. Ulcej, age 89 of Sayreville passed away at home with his son by his side. Born in Keasby, he had lived in South River before moving to Sayreville 50 years ago. After graduating from South River High School, Anthony joined the US Navy, where he served during WWII. Before his retirement in 1987, he worked for 39 years with Union Carbine in Bound Brook as a sheet metal mechanic. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Sayreville. Anthony was a member of the St. Stan’s Holy Name Society, the St. Stan’s Seniors and the Sayreville VFW Post 4699.
He is predeceased by his wife Julia R. Bielak Ulcej in 1984 and by his brothers Martin, John, Paul, Joseph, Frank and Stephen Vlcej and his sisters Mary Rampacek, Catherine Ebner and Elizabeth Vlcej.
Surviving are his son John, his wife Stephanie and his granddaughter Abigail all of Colfax, WI.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 8:30am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main St., Sayreville with a 9am mass to follow at St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Sayreville. Burial will take place at St. Stan’s Cemetery in Sayreville.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
The St. Stan’s Seniors will hold services on Monday at 2:30pm, the St. Stan’s Holy Name will hold services Monday evening at 8pm and the VFW Post 4699 will hold services Monday evening at 7:30pm.
