Blanche C. Urbanik, age 86 of South River passed away peacefully Sunday, May 4th 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Barnesboro, PA she resided in South River for most of her life. Blanche was a communicant of St Mary of Ostrabama RC Church in South River where she was very active in the St. Mary’s School P.T.A. when her children attended school there.

She was predeceased by her husband Eugene J. in 2000. Surviving are her son Eugene R. Urbanik and his wife Cynthia, her son Joseph Urbanik and his wife Donna, her grandchildren Joseph and Gina, a brother Walter Ligas, all of South River, and a sister Catherine Lazarski of Virginia Beach, VA.

Funeral services will be held 8:30am Friday at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave., South River with a 9am Mass at St Mary of Ostrabama RC Church in South River. Burial will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery in East Brunswick.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Blanche’s name to the St Mary’s Building Fund, 30 Jackson St., South River, NJ 08882.
