Obituary for Dolores R. Eick (DeFluri)

Dolores R.  Eick (DeFluri)
Dolores R. Eick, age 81 of Toms River passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease and breast cancer on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Brandywine Senior Assisted Living in Toms River. Born in Hazelton, PA Dolores was raised in Elizabeth and lived in Hillside for 25 years before moving to Toms River in 2005. Before her retirement she was employed as a Dental Assistant/Office Manager for over 50 years.

She is predeceased by her parents Peter and Nellie DeFluri, her brothers Neil and Maurice DeFluri and her sister Carmella Yaeger. Surviving are her children Matthew Eick and his wife Ruth of New Providence, her daughter Dani Sweeney of South Plainfield, her twin brother Peter DeFluri and his wife Angela of Hillside, her sister-in-laws Joyce DeFluri and Rose Marie DeFluri many nieces and nephews and her beloved grand-dog Lambchop.

Funeral services will be held 8:30am Saturday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 9am Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Amboy. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 6 to 9pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Dolores’ name to the Plainfield Area Humane Society, 75 Rock Ave., Plainfield, NJ 07063 or to the Alzheiemer’s Association by visiting alz.org.
