Obituary for Frank Gregory DeMonico

Frank  Gregory  DeMonico
Freehold
Frank Gregory DeMonico, age 55 of Freehold, passed away peacefully, Thursday April 20, 2017 at his home after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Flushing, Queens he has resided in Freehold for the past 6 years as well as South River and Old Bridge for many years. He was a graduate of South River High School and earned his BA from Rutgers University. Prior to his retirement, Mr. DeMonico most recently worked as an office employee with the Middlesex County Corrections Department. He also worked with Saks 5th Avenue in Trenton as an IT Supervisor.
Frank was a very active member of the community including the National MS Society, serving as a Treasurer for the Kershaw Commons Association, and was an Eagle Scout. Frank was an officer with the Rutgers Alumni Association, the Rutgers University Band Alumni Association, and was honored in being named a Loyal Son of Rutgers. He was also an accomplished Clarinetist having played with the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra, the Rutgers University Alumni Wind Symphony, and the Imperial Band of South River, as well as being a member of the International Federation of Musicians.
Frank is survived by his beloved parents Grazio Frank & Victoria DeMonico of South River; his loving siblings and their spouses John & Judeth of Parsippany, Mary Jean & Paul Wyllie of Egg Harbor Township, and David of Ocean; his nephews Donald, Luke, Michael, Matthew & Anthony, and niece Victoria; his dear girlfriend Stephanie Courtney of Edison; and his caregiver and close friend of the past 2 ½ years, Lloyd.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday from the M.A. Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave., South River with an 11:15am mass at Corpus Christi RC Church. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, So. Brunswick.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
