Estelle A. Sarg, age 91 of the Parlin section of Sayreville, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2017 at The Center for Hope Hospice Care Center in Scotch Plains with her loving family at her side. Born and raised in South Amboy, Estelle moved to Parlin in 1955 and has lived there ever since. She graduated from South Amboy High School and later worked as a cookie packer with Sunshine Biscuits for many years. Mrs. Sarg was a proud communicant of the First Presbyterian Church in Sayreville. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Estelle is predeceased by her beloved husband James C. Sarg in 1997, her parents George & Laura (Gent) Mershon, her son James G. Sarg, sister Laura Smith, and brother Buddy Mershon. Surviving are her loving daughter and husband Linda & Keith Braun of Parlin; her 2 wonderful grandchildren Keith & wife Margaux Braun of Flanders, and Michele Braun of Sayreville; her 2 adoring great-grandchildren Abigail & Tobin; brother James Gerald Mershon of NY; brother-in-law Edward Sarg of CT; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday 10am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main St. Sayreville, with a 10:30am service at 1st Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Christ Church Cemetery in South Amboy.
Calling hours at the funeral home will take place Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Estelle’s name to Center for Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1900 Raritan Rd., Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
