Donald J. Russ, age 89 of Ocean Gate passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 13th 2017 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Jersey City he had resided in Ocean Gate for the past 30 years and was formerly of Rahway. Before his retirement he was employed as a Splicing Line Supervisor for NJ Bell in Newark for 29 years. Donald loved spending time with his wife and family and will be truly missed.

He is predeceased by his parents Walter and Sarah, and his siblings Walter, Charles, Harold, Mary Moriarty and Lillian Price. Surviving are his beloved wife of 63 years, Anne Duffy Russ, his children and their spouses Patricia and Kevin McCormack of Parlin, Michael and Judy Russ of Union, Carol and Dave Gruytch of Parlin and Diane Applegate of Rahway, his grandchildren Kenneth Urbanowicz, Megan and Kevin McCormack, Kelly and Matthew Gruytch, Margaret Galati and Joseph Russ, his great grandchildren Amelia, Logan, Michaele, Sean and Alex, his sister Lorraine Stanulis of Freehold, his sister-in-law Mary Ann Paton of FL and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be private under the direction of the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin.
