Obituary for Karen M. Holda

Colonia
Karen M. Holda, age 57 of Colonia, peacefully passed away on September 28, 2017 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater after a three year battle with lung cancer. Born in South Amboy, Karen grew up in Sayreville and later moved to Colonia and Edison. She was a graduate of Colonia Sr. High School, attended Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA and graduated with a BA in Business from Centenary University in Hackettstown, NJ. Ms. Holda went on to a long, successful career as a sourcing professional and manager at Merck (Schering Plough), Siemens Medical Systems, & Mercedes of North America. Karen was a lover of all animals, especially her 2 dogs & 2 cats. She enjoyed skiing, horseback riding and travel to Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.

Karen was predeceased by her parents Joseph, Jr. & Theresa Holda. She is survived by her loving brother Ken (Anne) Holda of Strongsville, OH; niece Kristine (Justin) and great-niece Alexandra Gilbert of Brunswick, OH; niece Ingrid Holda of Strongsville, OH; cousin Elizabeth Mokrzycki of South Amboy; dear friend Jackie (Peter) Carollo; as well as many other cousins, family & friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 10:30am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main St., Sayreville with an 11am mass at St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
