Pauline B. Pisinski, age 99, of South River passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Edison with her loving family at her side. Born and raised in South River, she loved her borough dearly and decided to reside there for life. After graduating from St. Peter’s Nursing School, Ms. Pisinski entered the US Army where she proudly served her country in WWII and was eventually made 1st Lieutenant. Pauline later worked as a registered nurse and was employed at South River Junior HS and Lincoln High School for over 35 years. Pauline was also very active in her community as a member of the St. Mary’s Rosary Society, the St. Mary’s, Corpus Christi, and South River Senior Groups, the local VFW and American Legion, and the Sacred Heart Catholic War Veterans.

Pauline is predeceased by her parents Stanley & Mary Pisinski, her brothers Joseph, Edward and Steven, and her sisters Stella Fulham and Edna Kuchtyak. Surviving are her 2 nephews and their wives Fred & Joan Fulham of Parlin, and Richard & Stephanie of Monroe; her 2 nieces Patricia Pisinski of South River and Gail Kuchtyak of AZ; her great-nieces and nephews and their spouses Barbara & Jack Ballo of South River, Michael & Barbara Fulham of Morgan, and Matthew & Maria Fulham of Metuchen; as well as 7 great-great and 3 great-great-great nieces and nephews, including her beloved Nicholas.

Funeral services will be held 10:30am Monday from the M.A. Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave, South River followed by an 11am mass at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church. Burial will follow at 10am on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Brunswick.

Calling hours at the funeral home will take place Sunday from 2pm to 6pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pauline’s honor to either St. Mary’s Ostrabrama RC Church, 30 Jackson Street, South River, NJ 08882 or Caring Hospice Services, 10190 King Georges Post Road, Edison, NJ 08837.
