Obituary for Stanley Plewa

Old Bridge

Stanley Andrew Plewa, age 95 of Old Bridge passed away Monday January 29, 2018, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Sayreville he has resided in Old Bridge since 1955. Before his retirement in 1985 he was employed as a welder for 42 years at Hercules Inc in Sayreville. Mr. Plewa proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp as a Staff Sgt. during World War II. Stanley was a member of Sayreville V.F.W. Post 4699, Sayreville Knights of Columbus Council 2061 and Old Bridge Moose Lodge 485. He was a communicant of Saint Mary of Ostrabrama R. C. Church in South River where he was a member of the Holy Name Society.

He is predeceased by his parents Frank & Catherine Plewa and his siblings Andrew, Joseph, Walter, Edward Plewa, Mary Kozinski, Rose Wickley and Irene Malik. Surviving are his wife of 71 years Pat (Viola) Kaminski Plewa, his children and their spouses Stanley F. Plewa of Toms River, Patricia & Nick Casertano of Old Bridge and Joseph Plewa of Santa Monica, California, his grandchildren and their spouses, Nicholas & Shannon Casertano, Jason & Angela Plewa and Kristina & Justin Freeman, and his great grandchildren Allison, Austin, Emma and June.

A funeral mass will be offered 11am on Thursday February 1, 2018 at Saint Mary of Ostrabrama R. C. Church 30 Jackson Street South River under the direction of the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River. Burial with full military honors will follow at Saint Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Pulaski Avenue, Sayreville.
