Peter Walczak, age 71 of South River, passed away Friday July 27, 2018 at Kindred Hospital in Rahway. Born in South Amboy, he was a lifelong South River resident. Before his retirement, he worked for over 25 years as a purchasing agent with DuPont in Parlin. Peter was a communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Pete loved watching sporting events and horse racing. He also loved playing cards and trivia games.
He is predeceased by his parents Stanley and Amelia (Scislo) Walczak and his brother Stanley Walczak Jr.Surviving are his son Andrew, his sister Lorraine Walczak and his loving companion of 25 years Patricia LoPomo who was an excellent caregiver.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 10:30am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Ave South River with an 11am mass at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Brunswick.Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the charity of your choice.
