Theodore H. “Skip” Wedekind, III, age 77 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Saturday October 6, 2018 at his home with his loving family at his side. Born in Newark, he was raised in Belleville and has lived in Parlin for the past 52 years. Before his retirement 15 years ago, Mr. Wedekind worked as a precious metals wire weaver for Englehardt in Carteret for over 42 years. In his spare time, Skip loved to bowl and proudly volunteered his time at the Trinity Methodist Thrift Shop. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is predeceased by his parents Theodore, II & Edith Wedekind and by his brothers Gary & Gerald Wedekind. Surviving is his beloved wife of 55 years, Karen Wedekind (Haley) of Parlin; his loving children and their spouses Theodore, IV & Kelly Wedekind of RI and Laurie Ann & Michael Spaziano of Long Valley; his 2 wonderful grandchildren Faith Alexa & Michael Peter; his siblings Joyce Lukowiak of Nutley, Donald & wife Kathy Wedekind of Wharton, and Susan & husband Eugene Skidmore of FL; as well as many loving in-laws, nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9:15am on Wednesday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 10am mass at Trinity United Methodist Church in South Amboy. A private cremation will follow.

Calling hours at the funeral home will take place on Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Theodore’s honor to Trinity Methodist Church, 815 Bordentown Ave, South Amboy, NJ 08879 or to Boys Town at www.boystown.org/gift.
