Mary L. (nee) Jakes McGarigle age 86 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Monday September 8th 2014 at Briarwood Care & Rehab Center with her loving and devoted daughters at her side. Born in Newark she has resided in Parlin since 1954. Before her retirement in 1984 she was employed as a sales clerk for Abraham & Strauss in Woodbridge Center where she worked for 11 years. Mrs. McGarigle was a former communicant of St Bernadette’s R. C. Church in Parlin, a member of the Sayreville Women’s Club, Sayreville Senior Citizens Club and Saint Bernadette’s Seniors.

She is predeceased by her husband Edward R. McGarigle in 2003. Surviving are her daughters Kathleen McGrath and Carolyn McGarigle-Riad both of Parlin, her grandchildren and their spouses Kathleen Mervis, Kristin & Bill Polperio and Sean McGrath & Mark Hanley, her great grandchildren Rachel, Kevin, Lindsay and Dominick, her great great grandchildren Heather and Hunter and her sister Janet Granger.

Funeral services will be held Friday 10am at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin with burial to follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Keyport.
