Sayreville
Richard S. Olender, age 54 of Sayreville, passed away Friday October 10, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in South Amboy, he was a life long resident of Sayreville. Before his retirement, Richard worked as a production clerk for DuPont in Parlin for 32 years. Richard coached the Sayreville Stingrays softball team for many years.
He is predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Helen.
Surviving are his loving wife of 31 years, the former Rosemarie Esposito, his daughters Lynn Marie Lawson and her husband William of Hazlet, Amanda of Sayreville, his sister Carol Ciak of Parlin, his brother Benjamin of Burlington, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 9am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, with a 9:30am mass at St. Bernadette’s RC Church in Parlin. A cremation prayer service will follow at Holy Cross Crematory in South Brunswick.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 6pm to 9pm and Monday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
