Sharon M. Atkinson, age 73 of Sayreville passed away Monday, October 20th 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Elizabeth she was a lifelong Sayreville resident. Before her retirement she was employed by Laffin Chevrolet in South River as a Communications Coordinator for 13 years. Sharon was a member of the Sayreville First Presbyterian Church where she was also a Deacon, she was a Republican Committee Woman, a member of the Sayreville Environmental Commission, a notary public and she also sold Avon for many years.

Surviving are her children Kevin Kantor of Sayreville, Kimberly Kantor of South Amboy and Michael Zak and his wife Nicole of Sayreville, her grandchildren Samona Trautvetter, Ryan Kantor, Joseph Trybus, Tyler Kantor, Alexandria Zak and Michael Zak Jr., her sister Fran Rupp and her husband John and her brother Frankie Atkinson and his wife Kathy.

Funeral services will be held Thursday 8pm at the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main St., Sayreville with a private cremation to follow.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Sharon's name to the American Cancer Society.
