Sarah Amarescu age 72 of Sayreville passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Sayreville with her loving and devoted family at her side. Born in Mt Carmel, Pennsylvania on March 9, 1942, was a 1960 graduate of Mount Carmel High School, moving to Edison 1966 then to Sayreville in 1991. Before her retirement she was employed as a supervisor with The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in Piscataway where she worked for 32 years. Sarah was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories R. C. Church in Sayreville and was a member and officer of AARP in Sayreville. Sarah enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was also an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and knitting in her spare time.

She is predeceased by her parents Aurelio and Ines Bressan. Surviving are her husband John Amarescu, her loving daughter Debbie Rutkiewicz and her husband Steve of Sayreville, her grandchildren Breanne and Sean Rutkiewicz and her brother Louie Bressan and his wife Susan of Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania. Also surviving are her stepson Eric Amarescu of Las Vegas, NC, her stepdaughter Alison Dittman and her husband Dean, her two step-grandchildren Alexa and Evan, her brother in law Donald Amarescu and his wife Debra of Howell and many nieces, nephews, cousins and family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 8:30am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main Street Sayreville followed by a 9am mass at Our Lady of Victories R. C. Church in Sayreville with burial to follow at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville.
