Ferdinand A. Sengstack age 95 of Spotswood passed away Wednesday November 4, 2015 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Old Bridge he has resided in Spotswood since 1947. Before his retirement 33 years ago he was employed as an estimator and carpenter for E.I. Du Pont F & F Division where he worked for 44 years. Mr. Sengstack was a member of the E. I. Du Pont 10 and 25 year clubs and was also on the Du Pont Bowling League. Ferdinand proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corp, receiving the purple heart for wounds received in action, was a life member of the Spotswood First Aid Squad, and Spotswood Knights of Columbus Council 4907. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception R. C. Church in Spotswood.

He is predeceased by his two wives Rose A. Howley Sengstack in 1958 and Claire Mailloux Sengstack in 1994, his parents John & Agnes Sengstack, and his siblings Agnes Janczlik, Margaret Yeager, Ruth Zaehring, John Sengstack and Helen Keppe. Surviving are his children and their spouses Lawrence & Deidre of Keyport, Elaine Strausser of Florida, Colleen & Gary Genovese of Monroe Township, Raymond & Diane Whitehead of Spotswood and Garry & Barbara Sengstack of Jackson, his sister Irene Sengstack of Old Bridge, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday 9:15am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River followed by a 10:15am mass at Immaculate Conception R. C. Church in Spotswood with burial to follow at Saint Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. Members of Spotswood K of C Council 4907 will hold services Sunday at the funeral home.
