Maria Rosita Chu age 69 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away Thursday May 12, 2016 at Haven Hospice at JFK in Edison with her loving and devoted family at her side. Born in Caoayan, Ilocas Sur, Philippines she had resided in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Parlin in 1996. Before her retirement in 2012 she was employed as a dietary aide with J.F.K. Hartwyck in Edison and Briarwood Care Center for 6 years. Mrs. Chu received her BA in education from Manuel L. Quezon University in Manila and was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories R. C. Church in Sayreville.

Surviving are her husband of 36 years Henry R. Chu, her daughter Maria Chu- Rodriguera and her husband Jason, her son Timothy Chu, her granddaughter Lia C. Rodriguera all of Parlin, and her sister Elma Anonical of California.

Funeral services will be held Monday 9am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main Street Sayreville followed by a 9:30am mass at Our Lady of Victories R. C. Church in Sayreville with private cremation to follow.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Sunday from 2pm to 6pm.
