Danny J. DiPoalo, age 85, of the Morgan section of Sayreville, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Elizabeth he has resided in Morgan since 1957. Before his retirement in 2013 he was employed by CME Associates in Parlin for 16 years as an office worker and prior to that was the co-owner of Morgan Lumber on Rt #35 South for 42 years. Danny proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army, and was a member of Sayreville American Legion Post 211. He was a past Captain and 58 year member of Morgan Hose and Chemical Company, Sayreville Exempt Firemen’s Association and had served for 43 years as a member and past president of the Sayreville Board of Education. Danny was a communicant of Saint Lawrence R. C. Church in Lawrence Harbor, and a member of Sayreville Knights of Columbus Council 2016 and their 4th Degree Assembly. Danny was a coach for the Morgan Little League, founder and 1st coach of the Morgan Panthers Pop Warner Football league, co-founder of Sayreville High School Hall of Fame committee as well as a member of the Keyport High School Hall of Fame and an honorary inductee of the Sayreville High School Hall of Fame.

He is predeceased by his wife of 56 years Lorraine Wesley DiPoalo in 2013, his son-in-law Jonathan Gorczany, his brother John T. DiPoalo and his parents Dominic and Assunta DiPoalo. Surviving are his daughter Donna Marie Gorczany of Schoolcraft MI, his son Daniel J. DiPoalo and his wife Cynthia of Staten Island N.Y., and his grandsons Matthew and Nicholas DiPoalo of Aberdeen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday 8:15am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 9am mass at Saint Lawrence R. C. Church in Lawrence Harbor with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin.
