Obituary for Shirley A Meirose (Underwood)
Shirley A. Meirose, age 83 of Sayreville passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Meherrin, VA she was a lifelong Sayreville resident. Before her retirement she was employed by DuPont in Parlin as the Head of Human Resources for 30 years. Shirley was a member of the Sayreville Historical Society and was on the Sayreville Cultural Arts Council, she enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening and the theatre.
She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mary Underwood and her husband Edward. Surviving are her sons Tom and his wife Karen and Ed and his fiancé Cathie Mazzeo, her grandsons Tom, David, Michael and Tyler, her great-granddaughter Serena and her brother Robert Redford.
Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with burial to follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery in South River.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 4pm to 8pm.
